The trailer and song of filmmaker Roopa Iyer’s much-anticipated historical film Azad Bharath were unveiled at a press conference held in Mumbai, drawing attention from the film fraternity and media alike. The event marked a significant step ahead of the film’s worldwide release scheduled for 2nd January 2026.

Azad Bharath is a powerful cinematic tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, his revolutionary vision for an independent India, and the formation of the Rani Jhansi Regiment, one of the most inspiring chapters of the freedom movement. At its heart, the film brings to light the extraordinary yet lesser-known story of Neera Arya, along with several unsung heroes whose courage and sacrifices have largely remained absent from mainstream historical narratives.

Produced by Zee Studios, the film features Shreyas Talpade in the role of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Suresh Oberoi as the revolutionary freedom fighter Chhaju Ramji, and Roopa Iyer portraying Neera Arya. In addition to playing the lead role, Roopa Iyer has also directed and produced the film, lending a deeply personal and cohesive vision to the project.

A notable highlight of Azad Bharath is its anthem, to which Amruta Fadnavis has lent her voice, adding emotional depth and nationalistic resonance to the film’s narrative. The anthem reflects the spirit of sacrifice, courage, and unity that defines the story being told.

Speaking at the press conference, the film’s team emphasised the importance of revisiting lesser-known chapters of India’s freedom struggle, particularly stories of women and young individuals who dedicated their lives to the nation at an early age. The makers shared that the film aims to connect strongly with today’s younger generation by presenting history not merely as a series of events, but as lived experiences shaped by courage, conviction, and sacrifice.

The press event was also attended by Adv. Pradeep Jain, Adv. Nalini Mishra, and Mr. Ali Sayed from the Café Social team, who were present to extend their support to the film and its powerful message.

Café Social Magazine is the official Magazine and Media Partner for Azad Bharath. The Café Social team, including Adv. Pradeep Jain, Adv. Nalini Mishra, and Mr. Ali Sayed, was present at the press launch to extend its support to the film and its powerful message. The association reflects Café Social Magazine’s continued commitment to promoting meaningful cinema, national narratives, and stories rooted in India’s cultural and historical legacy.

Azad Bharath is set for a global theatrical release on 2nd January 2026, coinciding with the month that marks Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary on 23rd January. With its compelling subject, strong performances, and focus on untold stories, the film has already generated significant anticipation among audiences and history enthusiasts alike.
