For years, Sharma has followed a path that few choose. He has dedicated his life to those who are often forgotten, the poor, the helpless, and those without a voice. In 2024, under his calm but strong leadership, Chauri-Chaura celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21 in a grand way. Citizens, students, teachers, and officials came together in a peaceful atmosphere. As the sun rose, people joined their voices in a soft “Om,” moving through Surya Namaskars and yoga asanas with the help of trained instructors. It was a powerful moment of unity, led by his quiet strength.
But Sharma’s work is not just about events. In the freezing cold, he personally distributed blankets to those who needed them most. It was not just about fighting the cold, but about offering care, comfort, and human dignity. “We didn’t just give warmth,” he says. “We shared love.”
In a gesture of faith and community, he also organized a Mahakumbh Yatra with ten buses and twenty cars, helping hundreds of people join a sacred journey. He was the main force behind the colourful Bihar Day celebrations in Chauri-Chaura, turning it into a celebration of unity, tradition, and pride. And when the world celebrated Environment Day, Sharma made sure Chauri-Chaura joined in. He encouraged people to plant trees, building a greener future one sapling at a time.
What makes Santosh Kumar Sharma truly special is not just the size of his efforts, but the honesty in his heart. He does not ask for awards or recognition.
