Story of Mohhamad Zafar, A Delivery Man!!
Growing old is inevitable, but growing up is optional: Story of Mohammad Zafar a Delivery Man; Humility with Excellence – By Ali Sayed
“To keep the heart unwrinkled — to be hopeful, kindly, cheerful, reverent — that is to triumph over old age.” –
Thomas Bailey Aldrich
While pursuing our dreams, a number of us generally surrender our ardor for making money. We have a tendency to compromise our ardor for higher-paying jobs. However, there are many people who have been hit hard by the COVID-19 situation. Cafe Social has always been an admirer of extraordinary people and tries to reach out to them and give their stories a voice.
In this whole genre: a person admired by cafe social is “Mohammad Zafar”, a 52-year-old man from Mira Road who delivers food for his living.
In an interview with Cafe Social magazine, Mohammad Zafar (very shyly said) being less qualified it is difficult to find a job. So he started working as a food delivery boy at Swiggy. Being the only bread earner for the family of five, Mohammad Zafar had no option other than this to take this job. Mohammad Zafar has three children. His eldest daughter has hydrocephalus and his youngest daughter has completed her bachelor’s degree. And the youngest son is studying in 8th grade.
His eldest daughter is suffering from Hydrocephalus – a brain disease in which a fluid puts extreme pressure on the brain and causes brain damage. Unfortunately even after the operation, she got her cranial nerve damaged.
Mohammad Zafar’s life is nothing less than a battlefield where he has to fight continuously in order to maintain the lives. Despite the hardships, he never cribs about it rather he fights back hard. After all, keep moving is the only way left for him.
In general, people in this age group plan to get retired and wants to lead a serene life. But for Zafar, things aren’t the same. It’s hard to find a job in this age group but he was ready to do anything, be a watchman or an assignee, but couldn’t get a job. But “Swiggy” opened the door for him as Swiggy is having no age bar. There are few people out there who would do anything to keep the family-run despite being old and Mohammad Zafar is surely one of them.
He never thought of being a delivery boy. It might not be his first choice in the first place but that didn’t stop him from working. He works hard and with full passion. It was rightly said by John Maxwell that A difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose – a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve.
And for Mohammed Zafar, his family is the only reason to keep things going on and to work hard.
Cafe Social has always been a vox Populi to all these people who leave no stone unturned to astound society with their hard work and determination. We always put forward the gems of our society who are somehow making an impact by their deeds. While interviewing Mohammed Zafar he told cafe social that whenever he delivers food, people take pity on him and ask him why he chooses to do this. But he never feels uncomfortable as earning a livelihood for his family is part of an ibadat for him
and this is the only way to meet both ends for his family. Because for him image has nothing to do with hard work. An effort is always rewarded with happiness. Such a lively person. He has no regrets in life. He is very much satisfied with what God has given to him and he never complains about his pain. People these days are so preoccupied with chasing money and forget about happiness. And this person is still happy despite having many obstacles in his life. It takes a lot to be content and a Great Human-Like Mohammad Zafar.
Know that there are many people like Mohammad Zafar out there, working hard to run their families. Adversity, obstacles, and financial difficulties have never stopped them. Cafe Social requests to all our readers that if the delivery man takes a long time to get to your place, remember that one of the reasons you haven’t been eaten out is the temperature or annoying traffic. And this may be one of the reasons. Be humble and polite to them, they too are having difficulties in their lives. Nothing can be more satisfying in this world than being humble. Humility makes us better people. It may be stated therefore that the delivery personnel of both Swiggy and Zomato and even other delivery services; although have been considered to be “heroes” during the pandemic situation yet the treatment towards these people were not much like “heroes” or miserably overlooked.
