Two Terrorists Were Killed In An Encounter In The Tral Region Of Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir.
The police said two terrorists from the banned terror groups Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGuH) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
The two terrorists have been identified as Safat Muzaffar Sofi alias Muavia of AGuH and Umer Teli alias Talha of LeT, according to a police official quoting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
Both terrorists were involved in various terror activities, according to the IGP Kashmir, including the assassination of Sarpanch Sameer Ahmad in Srinagar’s Khonmoh region earlier this year.
“In Tral, AGuH terrorist Safat Muzzaffar Sofi and LeT terrorist Umer Teli were slain. Both were involved in multiple terror incidents in Srinagar city before moving to the Tral area, including the recent death of Sarpanch (Sameer Ahmad) in Khanmoh Srinagar “According to IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Zone Police said.
Early this morning, a clash between security officers and militants erupted.
