A MAN OF MANY TALENTS AND VALUES WHO HAS FOUND A PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN POLITICS AND ACTING, FINDING A HOME IN THE HEARTS OF MANY.

Chose to sweat for people after becoming star is nothing but extraordinary act of working towards welfare of people in his constituency and in large. Hon’ble Ravi Kishan Shukla, popularly known as “ Ravi Bhaiya” in his constituency .

Multitalented Mr Ravi Kishan is currently a Member of Parliament at the 17th Lok Sabha representing the constituency of Gorakhpur. He has a rich parliamentary experience as he was part of myriad committee and legislative consultations like the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, Industry and the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to name a few. Being a B.Com graduate of the Rizvi College, Mumbai, he later forayed into the field of acting. He has a diverse acting career portraying as Hero and Character Artist in almost more than 650 films in Hindi, Bhojpuri, Telugu and Tamil including other languages of the country. These substantive life experiences have enabled him to moot for welfare of the downtrodden as well as to contribute effectively to parliamentary democracy.

During the harrowing times of corona, He has worked tirelessly to serve the citizens of India as well as the workers of the Film industry. His successful parliamentary interventions have resulted in the establishment of the AIIMS Gorakhpur and an SEZ at Gorakhpur to name a few. He has also introduced myriad proposals before Parliament like the establishment of a new train from Gorakhpur to Gaya, use of renewable solar energy across Gorakhpur’s railways to name a few. He proposed the establishment of Uttar Pradesh’s first Ayush University, Mahayogi Gorakhnath Ayush University which would boost up the education and popularity of AYUSH systems and also proposed a major center for skill development training center which is to be established in Gorakhpur. He also proposed the beautification of all the martyr monuments and declaring the memorial sites of Gorakhpur as a heritage site of India. During covid-19 he ensured that critical hospital care was reached both to the public and the film fraternity.

Despite being known as the Amitabh Bachchan of Bhojpuri films, his life has not always been in the limelight; His humble roots are found in Bisuin, a small village on the border of Varanasi in Jaunpur district of UP which consisted only of 20 families.

With 500 rupees in his pocket given by his mother, he travelled to Mumbai to showcase his talent and become a film star, but even for a small role he couldn’t find any work. Such hardships did not stop him though as he made his Hindi film debut in ‘Pitambar’ (1992), getting his first income of 25 thousand rupees, out of which 15 thousand he sent to his village to help the poor and needy of his hometown. After that nothing stopped him from excelling in his passion in Bollywood. Soon he stared in many blockbuster movies along with superstars such as Salman Khan in Tere Naam, Kajol in Udhar ki Zindegi, Akshay Kumar in Phir Hera Feri 2, Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu, Saif Ali Khan in Agent Vinod, John Abrahim in Batla house, and many more But as we all are aware, his excellence lies in Bhojpuri films, with his first ever being ‘Saiyaan Hamaar’ (2003). After that he appeared in the hit films ‘Pandit Ji Batai Na Biyah Kab Hoi’ (2004), Banke Bihari MLA (2006) to name a few.

He is also known to work in some of the best shows of Indian TV serials and shows like Doordarshan’s Jai Hanuman as Lord Krishna (1997) in which he stared along with Raj Premi, a celebrated veteran actor, as Lord Krishan, Sahara TV’s Har Mod Par (2002), DD Metro’s Hello Inspector (2002 among other exemplary TV serials.

He is also known to work in some of the best shows of Indian TV serials and shows like Doordarshan’s Jai Hanuman as Lord Krishna (1997) in which he stared along with Raj Premi, a celebrated veteran actor, as Lord Krishan, Sahara TV’s Har Mod Par (2002), DD Metro’s Hello Inspector (2002 among other exemplary TV serials.

His seriousness in social work and politics, has led him to take out time out of his successful career. He a admits that it was Modi’s passion which convinced him to join the BJP.

His determination to help not only the citizens of his constituency but also the film industry is rather noteworthy. He raised the issue of drug cartels and Bollywood in the 2020 monsoon session of Parliament. Noting that the alleged nexus between Bollywood and drug cartels is a huge cause for concern- he urged the Narcotics Control Board and the Central Government to take action against drug abuse while emphasising on the need of making India a better place for the youth, he stressed on the requirement of additional funds in the ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, and the obligation of the government to teach the youth of India self-defence.

AS IT IS SAID “IT’S NOT ABOUT MONEY OR CONNECTIONS- IT’S ABOUT THE WILLINGNESS TO OUTPERFORM AND OUTLEARN OURSELVES”. FROM POLITICS TO BOLLYWOOD, MR. KISHAN HAS TAUGHT US THAT DETERMINATION AND HARDWORK IS YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS.
