Releasing of audio-video ‘Woh Meri Nigaho  Mein 

The Pathfinders Club of India, an alumni association founded by the  students of the National Museum Institute, National Museum in 1997, organized a grand event to commemorate the birth centenary of the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi. 

The event was held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi and was attended by many esteemed guests including Chief Justice (Retd.) M. Karpaga Vinayagam,  Amarendra Katua, Retd. Director General, ICCR and Ex Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs and Shailesh Giri, CEO and Director of Bollywood PR Agency. The event was organized with the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” reflecting Mohammed Rafi Sahab’s musical legacy, which transcended geographical and cultural boundaries. 

The event begins with the presentation of the Mohammed Rafi – An Idea of 

India Award to organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields, followed by the   release of an audio-video tribute to Mohammed Rafi Sahab. The song, sung by Saurav Mishra, was penned and composed by Natesan Muni. The tribute was a heartfelt homage to the legendary singer, whose voice continues to mesmerize audiences across generations.

The event also featured a musical extravaganza, where emerging and promising singers Saurav Mishra, Praveen Mudgal, Advocate Rajesh S. Lakh, Pravendra Srivastava, Praveen Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Mukesh Kaushik, Raghunandan Singh, Sunita Vashish, Indu Bagga, Chandrakanta  and Sushant Sukhla performed Rafi’s iconic songs.

Sulabh International Social Service Organisation: This esteemed organization has been at the forefront of promoting sanitation and abolishing manual scavenging. 

Anil Bishnoi: A renowned wildlife conservationist, Bishnoi has dedicated his life to protecting India’s rich wildlife heritage. 

Yogita Bhayana: A dynamic public figure, Bhayana has made significant contributions to public life through her work in various social and cultural organizations. She spearheaded campaigns to change the juvenile justice law age limit for rapists from 18 to 16 years, which was successfully passed in the Rajya Sabha in 2016.

Advocate Pradeep Jain – Apart from his illustrious career in a renowned law firm, Adv. Pradeep Kumar Jain is a dedicated social worker. His passion for giving back to society has led him to establish several initiatives that promote literacy, education, and social welfare.   Mr. Jain founded “Inbook Café” – a network of 100+ libraries across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra with an aim to promote literacy, inculcate reading culture, and undertake social campaigns for the weaker sections of society.  Mr. Jain’s vision for In-book Café extends beyond literacy. 

Kishore Nawar – This recognition comes in light of his heroic actions during the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, where he demonstrated remarkable valour as the handler for sniffer dog Prince. On November 26, 2008, during the terrorist outbreak in Mumbai, PCH Kishor Nawar, handler for sniffer dog Prince, demonstrated remarkable valour. Without body protection, he led Prince to identify the explosive component of an IED in a suspicious bag at Hotel Trident.

Shaik Abdul Hameed – As the first Indian to win two gold medals and a silver at the prestigious Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship, Mr. Hameed has etched his name in the annals of sporting history. His achievements have inspired countless young athletes in India to pursue Tenpin Bowling, a sport that has often struggled for recognition despite its global appeal.

Manoj Bhawuk –  As a poet, actor, television presenter, and screenwriter, he has been instrumental in promoting the Bhojpuri language and culture.  His impressive body of work has earned him numerous national and international awards, including the Filmfare & Femina Bhojpuri Icons Award, Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad Award etc.

Licypriya kangjum – She is a young Indian environmental activist who has made a significant impact on the global stage. Born on October 2, 2011 in Manipur, India, Licypriya began advocating against climate change at the tender age of seven.

She has been campaigning for climate action in India since 2018, pushing for new laws to curb pollution and make climate-change literacy mandatory in schools. Licypriya’s efforts have earned her recognition as one of the youngest climate activists globally.

Moumala Nayak – A disciple of the legendary Pt. Birju Maharaj, Moumala has mastered the nuances of the Lucknow gharana of Kathak.  With a career spanning over three decades, Moumala has performed extensively in India and abroad, enthralling audiences with her sensuous movement and graceful footwork. 

Nivedita Joshi –  A yoga enthusiast and promoter, Joshi has dedicated her life to spreading the benefits of yoga to people from all walks of life. Her efforts have inspired a new generation of yoga practitioners and promoted India’s rich yoga heritage.

Dr. Vinay Kumar  – an  archaeologist with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University. He directed the excavation at Matigaon (Pharsand Mohanpur) in Chandauli district. 

Disha Ahluwalia – She is an archaeologist specializing in field archaeology and ancient ceramics, Ms. Ahluwalia is currently pursuing a Ph. D.

Mohammed Rafi – An Idea of India award for Life time achievement in Music.

Kavita Krishnamurthy –  A legendary singer and a proud recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Krishnamurthy has regaled audiences with her mesmerizing voice for decades. Her contributions to Indian music are immeasurable, and her legacy continues to inspire young singers.

The event was a resounding success, with attendees praising the organizers for their meticulous planning and execution. The Pathfinders Club of India, founded by Natesan Muni, has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting Indian culture and heritage.

In his address, Chief Justice (Retd.) M. Karpaga Vinayagam praised Mohammed Rafi Sahab’s contributions to Indian music and culture. Shailesh Giri, CEO and Director of Bollywood PR Agency, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the importance of preserving India’s cultural heritage.

About the Pathfinders Club

In  1997, a group of students from the National Museum Institute, National Museum, gathered at a tea stall opposite Nirman Bhawan to discuss forming a club with a social and cultural initiative. This idea was sparked by Yashpal, a student who suggested that they should create a platform to maintain their friendships after completing their courses in Art and Culture and Museology.

Natesan Muni took the initiative to formalize the club, and on August 14, 1997, the club was officially founded in the National Museum Institute auditorium, Janpath. Coincidentally, this date marked the eve of India’s 50th Independence Day.

The club’s inaugural event was held at the Sandhya Old Age Home, where the renowned Qawwali artist Ustad Hamid Hussain performed.  Notably, Ustad Hamid Hussain is the father of acclaimed Bollywood singer Javed Ali.

The club celebrated its silver jubilee last year, with esteemed guests, including Shri Ramdas Athawale, Minister for Social Justice, and Dr. B.R. Mani, Director-General of the National Museum. Shri Ashish Goyal, Additional Director-General of the National Museum, also attended the celebration. At present, the club is actively and honorarily served by Natesan Muni and Harmendra  singh as a  Chairman and Secretary respectively
