The Inspiring Journey of Abhijeet Prabhakar Bhosale

My name is Abhijeet Prabhakar Bhosale, and I was born on October 18, 1989, in the small town of Phaltan, District Satara. My journey has been shaped by a deep sense of duty and patriotism, intertwined with an enduring passion for music.

From a young age, I was inspired by the valor depicted in the movie “Border.” Watching the film ignited a patriotic fervor within me, setting me on a path toward the uniformed services. I remember feeling a surge of pride and determination, thinking, “माझं रक्त भारतीय सैनिकांच्या धमन्यांमध्ये वाहतंय” (My blood flows in the veins of Indian soldiers). That day, I decided I wanted to serve my country.

My early education took place in Phaltan, and my college years were spent at the Agricultural College in Shivajinagar, Pune. During my school life, I actively participated in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), where I earned AB and C certificates. My dedication to the NCC even saw me representing Maharashtra at the RDC Parade in Delhi, a significant cultural event. These experiences instilled in me the values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork. As we often said in NCC, “एकता और अनुशासन” (Unity and Discipline).

In 2014, after completing my college education, my dream of wearing the uniform became a reality when I joined the Maharashtra Police Force as a Police Sub-Inspector through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s competitive examination. This achievement was a moment of immense pride and joy for both me and my family. “लोकांचं विश्वास हेच आमचं बळ आहे” (The trust of the people is our strength) became my motto as I embarked on my career.

Currently, I am serving as an Assistant Police Inspector at Cuffe Parade Police Station in Mumbai, a role I have held since March 2022. Every day in the police force is a new challenge, and one of the most challenging experiences was working in Gadchiroli, where I had to combat Naxal influence. I worked tirelessly to instill a sense of patriotism in the young women of the region, steering them away from the lure of Naxal activities. One memorable moment was when a young girl, once on the brink of joining Naxals, decided to pursue higher education after attending our programs. I believe “समाज सुधारला तरच देश प्रगती करेल” (The society will progress only if it improves).

My talents are not confined to my police duties. My father, an ardent music lover, nurtured in me a love for music from an early age. I am skilled in both singing and playing the harmonium. My musical journey saw me participating in various singing competitions during my college years, where I consistently emerged as a top performer. I was honored by renowned singer-composer Salil Kulkarni for my exceptional talent.

My passion for music extended to television, where I participated in popular reality shows such as Indian Idol, Radio City Super Singer, and Zee Yuva Sangeet Samrat. In Mumbai, I continue to share my love for music by performing patriotic songs during events organized by the CPRA Association on significant national holidays like August 15th and January 26th. My performances have even caught the attention of Bollywood’s famous Sufi singer, Kailash. For me, “सुरांच्या माध्यमातून देशसेवा” (Serving the nation through the medium of music) is a way to connect my two passions.
