IMFL Worth Over Rs 29 Lakh Seized From Ambernath Farmhouse; Two Arrested
An officer with the Maharashtra Excise Department said on Thursday that IMFL worth over Rs 29.8 lakh had been recovered from a farmhouse in Thane district.
According to inspector Ananda Kamble of the state excise department, a flying squad of the state excise department raided a farmhouse in Vangani, Ambernath, on Wednesday and arrested two people for hoarding liquor.
According to him, the department received information that IMFL was being held in a farmhouse owned by one Marathe Kevne in Savragaon, which prompted a raid and the seizure of liquor authorised to be sold in Goa alone.
Avinash Ganpat Kevne and Samir Ganpat Kevne, brothers, have been arrested, and a manhunt has been initiated for the primary suspect, according to the official, who added that further investigation is underway.
