From Shadows to Strength
“They told me I couldn’t. So I did.”

At 14, Neeta’s dreams were stolen from her. While other girls her age were playing, learning, and imagining a future, she was handed a wedding sari and told that marriage was her destiny. By 15, she was a mother. By 34, she had endured years of abuse, humiliation, and hopelessness. But that year, something changed. That year, she decided to rewrite her fate.
Her husband had always told her, “You are nothing without me.” Every insult, every slap, every night of silent tears deepened the fire within her. She knew she had to escape, not just for herself, but for her children. She wouldn’t let them grow up in fear. She wouldn’t let them believe that suffering was the price of survival.
One day, she made a choice that would change everything. With nothing but courage in her heart and her children by her side, she walked out. There was no home waiting for her, no money in her pocket, no plan, only a fierce determination to never look back.
She began with a scooter, then progressed to a car, and finally a van. Each ride she offered was a move toward liberty. What started as a basic school pick-up service eventually developed into something more significant. Through determination and unwavering effort, she transformed one van into an entire fleet.
Her challenges didn’t stop there. Society mocked her, family distanced themselves, and monetary struggles challenged her. However, Neeta remained steadfast, laboring tirelessly to create a future for her kids.

Currently, Neeta operates ShreeNeeta Travels, a successful transportation company with 13 buses. The woman who was once considered to be worthless now hires others, demonstrating that she is all she was destined to be.
Her daughters are self-sufficient, her son is established in Canada, and she stands strong, not as a victim, but as a fighter who would not accept defeat. Neeta didn’t merely survive, she triumphed. Her tale demonstrates that no confinement can restrain a woman resolved to soar.
