Justice Jainarayan Patel
Justice J N Patel, an eminent jurist of India is
one of finest mind in criminal jurisprudence.
He was enrolled as an Advocate at the age of
27 year and started practice on Civil, Criminal
and Constitutional matters in the District
Courts and the High Court at Nagpur Bench.
Justice Patel was also served as a teacher in
University College of Law. At the age 37, he
as a Judge of the City Civil Court. He was
appointed as Designated Judge in TADA Court,
the Special Court constituted for the trial
of 1993 Bombay bombings case. He became
the Judge of the Bombay High Court at age
of 46 year. In 2010, He was appointed as Chief
Justice of Kolkata. After retirement he
exhibited his legal acumen as arbitrator of
various tribunal. He is also chairperson of the
Judicial Commission of 2018 Bhima Koregaon
violence.
Justice Patel is one of few judges of India
who is known for his wit and ever charming
